FAQ

Where are you based?

I’m based in Oklahoma City and work throughout the U.S. and internationally. Travel is a regular part of my work, and I’m especially interested in continuing to grow my work in New York, Los Angeles, Austin and London.

What kind of projects do you take on?

I work across commercials, campaigns, branded content, editorial, music videos and narrative film, with a focus on wardrobe styling and costume design.

My projects range from large commercial productions and professional athletes to character-driven narrative work and conceptual costume builds.

What does your process look like?

I start by understanding what we’re making and what the wardrobe needs to do for it.

For every project I lead, I create a visual wardrobe treatment before sourcing begins. From there, I handle the needs of the project from prep through wrap, including sourcing, shopping, fittings, alterations, specialty pieces, on-set styling, continuity and returns.

Do you create wardrobe treatments?

Always. It’s one of my favorite parts of the process.

Treatments give us a shared visual language early, with room to explore palette, silhouette, texture, character and references before we start spending the wardrobe budget.

They also mean that by the time we get to set, we’ve already made a lot of the big decisions together.

Do you work with professional athletes and public-facing talent?

Yes. I’ve styled professional athletes and public-facing talent for national campaigns, branded content and commercial productions.

I’m interested in understanding the person wearing the clothes and finding the point where the creative direction and their own sense of self meet.

Can you manage principals and background?

Yes. Depending on the production, I can oversee wardrobe for principals and background, including sourcing, fittings, self-wardrobe direction, continuity and on-set management.

For larger productions, I build a wardrobe team around the needs and scale of the job.

Do you do costume design as well as commercial styling?

Yes, and I really love having both in my practice.

Commercial styling asks me to communicate an idea quickly and understand the relationship between talent, brand and image. Costume design gives me room to go deeper into character, research and narrative.

The process is different, but the question underneath both is similar: what do the clothes need to do here?

Can you create specialty or custom costume pieces?

Yes. Depending on the project, I source, alter, customize, distress and develop specialty costume pieces, bringing in additional makers or specialists when a build calls for it.

I especially love the projects where the answer to “where do we find this?” is “we don’t.”

Do you offer creative direction?

For select projects. My background in photography, writing, design and creative direction has a big influence on how I approach wardrobe, and I’m comfortable contributing to the larger visual conversation when it’s helpful.

Wardrobe styling and costume design are the focus of my practice, but I’m always interested in a good idea and thoughtful collaboration.

How do rates and wardrobe budgets work?

Every production is a little different. Rates depend on scope, schedule, location and the size of the wardrobe department needed.

Once I understand the project, I can provide an estimate that accounts for prep, shoot and wrap days, assistants or additional wardrobe crew, wardrobe budget and any specialty fabrication or project-specific needs.

How far in advance should I reach out?

As early as you can, especially for projects that involve travel, multiple talent, specialty builds or significant prep.

That said, production timelines are production timelines. If the dates are close, reach out anyway.

How do I inquire about a project?

Tell me a little about what you’re making, your dates and where you’ll be shooting through my contact form. I’d love to hear what you’re working on.
